Trauma and PTSD

The Practice is a Trauma Specialist Service and has extensive experience in supporting clients who have experienced single and multiple traumas including sexual abuse, domestic violence, accidents and bereavement/loss .

And clients who have perhaps then also developped PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

Either through Counselling/Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or EMDR (click on the word for further information) we could support you in finding ways to process the trauma and, hopefully, move toward a Post Traumatic Growth, or recovery.

In your initial Assessment we will discuss what approach would best suit your needs and the traumatic event(s) you have experienced.

At the Practice we understand Trauma to be an event, or a number of events, where you felt powerless and or in fear, including and not excluding fear for your own life (or the life of someone you care for).

Fear, feeling powerless, recurring flashbacks, avoidance/dissociation and hyper or hypoarousal might be signs of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder .

Testimonials

It is within the herd that I have finally found my voice.....long forgotten but not lost.
Thank you, Cleo and Sultana for allowing me to be part of the herd.

Thanks to my therapist I am now more assertive and clearer of my needs and therefore more able to live a life that I want rather than what people want.

Although at the beginning I was very scared of horses, today I realised that the biggest fear was that I could be as powerful as the horses.
